There is an epidemic around the world called obesity and it seems like everyone is spending all their time and money trying to get slim. Well there is a silent epidemic going on that no one seems to talk about called "I wish I could put some body mass on my bones".
It is assumed that only overweight people have a tortured life of rude comments and personal dissatisfaction, HOW WRONG! All through my childhood and adolescence people enjoyed making comments on how thin I was and I remember wishing with all my heart that I could have some fat on my body to cover the protruding bones and ribs. The fact that I had a natural flat stomach and razor sharp jaw line meant nothing to me, all that I could think about was getting some mass on my embarrassingly thin body.
If you are a thin person because your metabolism is very fast you may well be upset with your current physique. Your clothes seem to hang on you while your heavier friend's clothes seem to fit so well. It's so frustrating that you eat like crazy but you can't put on a single pound. Even worse if you can't find the appetite to eat enough to gain weight.
When I was twenty-one I decided to start weight training. After all, it is the usual way to put body mass on a thin body. I trained regularly and heavy but my body seemed determined to remain thin. Other trainers with more natural body weight were gaining size and muscle much faster than I could and I began to believe that I would always be trapped in a thin body.
One training session I sat down to have a break and started reading a few magazine articles. The magazines were creased and old but there were some articles commenting that training to gain weight is different to training to build muscle. I had my doubts that anything could put mass on my bones so I continued to train as before for a while but as the weeks went by my efforts were still getting no success. So I finally decided that I would set up a new training schedule focused entirely on weight gain techniques instead of normal body building techniques.
The first few weeks seemed as if the new training technique was going to fail, but I thought that it could be no worse than my previous work-out results so I carried on with many doubts. Then after about three weeks I started to see and feel changes. My protruding elbows, wrists, knees etc were beginning to feel more padded than ever before. My ribcage appeared to be smoothing out and my legs looked definitely larger.
What had seemed like a desperate leap of faith was actually working and my enthusiasm soared. I started to train with much more belief and passion. Body and muscle mass continuede to increase and my bony parts continued to disappear.
Friends were making surprised comments on my increase in muscle and body mass. I started to wear vest tops in public and felt like a million dollars. My usually loose fitting stretch jeans were filling out and my knees were more rounded instead of being knobbly. I will always remember one evening at the local bowling alley I was playing on an arcade machine called Hyper Olympics were you had to tap two buttons to make the characters run. As I was tapping away on the buttons I could see my friends reflections in the screen and, even though I was trying for the high score, two friends were staring at my biceps and not the screen. That was the moment I realized that this training scheme had given me eye-catching results I had previously only dreamed of getting.
By the end of three months I had gone from [11 stone 3 pounds] or [154 pounds] to [13 stone 7 pounds] or [189 pounds] that is around a gain of 2.5 stone in only 3 months. It sounds hard to believe that a skinny guy like me could gain any weight at all but it is all absolutely true. I felt that I was now able to resume normal training but of course at a much better level of natural size.
I have decided to call it the METABLAST work-out because it seemed to blast my metabolism down to a slower rate. It requires no drugs or additives, simply disciplined training and healthy eating. If it can put impressive body mass and muscle on my boney carcass it should do it for anyone, and that means YOU !
