Host and zone file protection
The windows ‘host file’ is used to send outgoing spyware (heading back to base) to a non existent web address - ie - nowhere. I use Host Expert below to edit and control this file

The Zone file is used to prevent your browser from allowing particular (blacklisted) web sites from opening. Excellent for parents who do not want their loved ones seeing corruptible sites.

Zoned Out
Is FREE for anyone to use. The most important section of this product is to secure your web browser from known spyware sites by adding site names to the Zone file. The browser will not open a web site if it is listed in the Zone file. There are easy means to viewing and altering this blacklist should you want to get access a particular web site. New databases of restricted sites can be downloaded and added easily. The download below is a zip file that needs expanding to a directory of your choice. Run the program from within that directory.

Host Expert
Is FREE for anyone to use. The most important section of this product is to secure your web browser from allowing known spyware sites to connect to the internet from within your PC. It does this by sending outgoing spyware to a non existent web site address.
You can add the latest known trouble web sites easily in the download database section. If you want access to one of the web sites that Host Expert is bouncing to nowhere land then the simple interface has a green button which, if clicked, turns red disabling the whole blacklist until turned green again. There is an easy list editor with a find text function so you can manipulate the blacklist line by line if you like. New databases of restricted sites can be downloaded and added easily.
NOTE: if you are having trouble getting a desired web page to load Host Expert may be denying access, ie some google results. Simply change the green button to red and try to access the web page again.
